Wimbledon LIVE: Tennis scores as Murray and Raducanu in doubles

Wimbledon: Emma Raducanu on why she ‘couldn’t say no’ to playing mixed doubles with Andy Murray

Andy Murray and Emma Raducanu team up in the Wimbledon mixed doubles this evening in what could be the two-time singles champion’s final ever match at the All England Club. Murray asked Raducanu to be his mixed doubles partner on the 37-year-old Wimbledon farewell, in a special pairing of Britain’s two active grand slam champions.

Murray was beaten in the men’s doubles alongside brother Jamie on Thursday night, before an emotional ceremony on Centre Court commemorated the end of his singles career. The mixed doubles with Raducanu offers Murray an another opportunity to wave farewell to Wimbledon ahead of retiring at the Olympics next month.

Raducanu breezed into the fourth round of the singles with an impressive victory over No.9 seed Maria Sakkari yesterday. Harriet Dart will look to join her on a packed day of action, following her win over British No 1 Katie Boulter on Thursday. Cameron Norrie takes on the fourth seed Alexander Zverev on Centre Court following his victory over Jack Draper.

On serve once more as Zverev races into a 40-15 lead before playing a brilliant shot into a postage stamp in the corner.

Wimbledon 2024: Cameron Norrie 2-2 Alexander Zverev

All square so far between Norrie and Zverev, with barely a point being won against serve.

The rain is pounding on the Centre Court roof so it doesn’t look like we’ll get play outside for a while.

Wimbledon 2024: Cameron Norrie vs Alexander Zverev

The good news is we have some play on Centre Court under the roof, as well as Court One.

On Centre, we start with Britian’s Cameron Norrie’s match against fourth seed Alexander Zverev. The German has been in fine form having reached the semi-finals of the Australian Open and French Open final this season, and has not been broken so far this Championship.

Norrie was not in form ahead of Wimbledon but produced a stunning performance to beat Jack Draper, the new British No 1, in the previous round. Zverev has only ever reached a quarter-final here, while Norrie is a former semi-finalist.

Wimbledon 2024: Play suspended outside

Bad news: the rain is back!

Play is suspended on the outside courts, with Harriet Dart having secured another break to lead Xinyu Wang 3-2, but it’s 40-40 on the Dart serve.

Wimbledon’s Euro 2024 rule hands England fans dilemma ahead of Switzerland quarter-final

England fans at Wimbledon will have a dilemma ahead of the Euro 2024 quarter-final against Switzerland on Saturday evening as the match will not be shown at the All England Club.

Wimbledon’s policy is in keeping with previous years, including when England’s men’s team reached the semi-finals of the World Cup in 2018 and the final of the Euros in 2021.

England face Switzerland in the Euro 2024 quarter-finals at 5pm on Saturday, which coincides with a busy day at the Championships as the third round continues and Andy Murray and Emma Raducaunu play in the mixed doubles.

Wimbledon will not be showing the football, however, with the big screen on The Hill only showing tennis, as has been the case when the Championships has taken place at the same time as a major football tournament.

Wimbledon 2024: Harriet Dart 1-1 Xinyu Wang

Dart breaks straight back with some bold forehands towards the line, hanging on in the rally as Wang fires long.

Wimbledon 2024: Harriet Dart 0-1 Xinyu Wang

Dart, wearing a long sleeved top due to the chill of the breeze here, is broken in her first game of the match as a forehand lands wide. The 27-year-old had saved two break points but was taken to a third deuce by Wang and she takes the opening break.

There may be quite a few breaks of serve in this wind though.

Wimbledon 2024: Harriet Dart vs Xinyu Wang

After a weather delay of two hours, we’re almost ready to go on Court No 2. It’s still very blustery around the outside courts, so difficult conditions for Harriet Dart as she takes on Xinyu Wang.

The World 33 from China beat Jessica Pegula, the fifth seed, in the previous round.

Wimbledon 2024: The covers are off!

Looks like we’re heading for a 1pm start! The covers are off on Court No 2 ahead of the start of Harriet Dart’s match against Xinyu Wang.

On Court One, play will definitely be starting at 1pm under the roof with the resumption of Ben Shelton’s match against Denis Shapovalov.

Cameron Norrie will be on court at 1:30pm against Alexander Zverev.
